SERVICE GOALS

Ankeny TV LogoThe goal of Ankeny TV is to provide the citizens of Ankeny with information that will enable them to participate more fully and effectively in the life of the community and their government.

Ankeny TV also provides residents with emergency/disaster relief information services when necessary.

Toward this end, Ankeny TV, located on cable channel 86 and 97.1 and operated by the City of Ankeny Public Relations office, provides Ankeny citizens with videotext information related to and in support of the services and programs of the City. 

Depending on your TV's technology, you may need an extra piece of equipment to see our channel. This equipment is provided by Mediacom and is free for a year for cable subscribers. The following is a basic guide to four common TV configurations.

PROGRAMMING

Ankeny TV began serving the public in July 2004, with 24hr/day videotext information on City job openings, cultural events, program registration, rules & policies and special announcements. Ankeny TV is governed by policies and guidelines adopted by the city council. programming policies and guidelines. 

Ankeny TV broadcasts Polk County Conservation education videos, Zoo TV, courtesy of the Blank Park Zoo, and other locally produced programs.
