FUNDRAISING
Expenses needed to operate the dog park are being off-set by pass sales. The park is a financially self-sufficient operation. To date, The City of Ankeny and Ankeny Dog Park Task Force have worked cooperatively to raise over $125,000 for the park.
However, there is a need to continue fundraising for capital projects. Fundraising is occurring for our next phase of projects for the dog park. These projects include: installation of the dog park shelter, pond aerator, trail loop within the large dog area of the dog park, and landscaping.
Benches can be purchased for $850 as part of the City of Ankeny's Memorial & Tribute Program.
An exclusive sponsorship opportunity remains for the Dog Park shelter for interested parties.

HISTORY AND OVERVIEW
The Ankeny Dog Park officially opened on Friday, September 17, 2010. One of only a handful in the state, the dog park is 7.5 acres that will allow dogs of all sizes to run freely in an entirely fenced in area. The park features a half acre pond, separate small and large dog areas and open green space for your dog to run. Future amenities include a shelter and trail throughout the park.
The Ankeny Dog Park was funded through a public-private partnership between the City of Ankeny and the Ankeny Dog Park Task Force. The title sponsor of the Dog Park is Community State Bank.
