CITY GOVERNANCE
Ankeny has a mayor-council form of government. The City Council serves as the elected legislative and policy-making body of the City of Ankeny, enacting all laws and directing any actions necessary to provide for the general welfare of the community through appropriate program, services and activities.

The City Council meets in regular session the first and third Monday of each month starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Ankeny City Hall, 410 W 1st Street. More information about the City Council is available here.
