Sister Cities Program

The Sister Cities program allows residents and citizens of Ankeny and the people of similar cities in foreign nations to acquire a mutual understanding of one another as individuals, as members of their communities, as citizens of their countries and as members of the family of nations. The Sister Cities program helps start dialogue between people with similar interests and needs in the areas of business, industry, culture and government.

Ankeny is a member of the Greater Des Moines Sister City Commission and has six sister cities including: Kofu, Japan, Naucalpan, Mexico, Saint-Etienne, France, Shijiazhuang, China, Stavropol, Russia and Provincia di Catanzaro. For more information go to www.ci.des-moines.ia.us.
