Aquatic centers will modify hours or close for the season

ANKENY, Iowa (Aug. 6, 2012) - With school starting the second week of August, the Ankeny aquatic centers will modify hours after Tuesday, August 14. Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center, located at 1220 NW Prairie Ridge Drive, will close for the season. Cascade Fall Aquatic Center, located at 2350 SW Prairie Trail Parkway, will be open only on the weekends from noon to 8 p.m. through Labor Day, Monday, September 3. The daily admission will remain the same as the regular season with general admission of $7, seniors 60+ are $5 and children 2 and under are $1. The weekday lap swim and water walking programs will also end on August 14.

Pooch Paddle Event
Got a dog who loves to swim? The end out the aquatic season at Prairie Ridge, the annual Pooch Paddle Dog Swim will be on Thursday, August 16 from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $5 per pooch and registration is available on-site. Owners much be with their dogs at all times; animals must be on a leash when not in the water. One owner per dog is allowed to enter the water if necessary and open swimming will not be allowed. Be sure to bring a favorite ball or toy.
