Children’s Programs

The library’s children’s programs are designed to nurture pre-reading skills and a love of books in children and teens. The Children’s Department holds regular story times as well as special events throughout the year. Pre-registration is required for most programs.

Help Ozzie the Owl dig up facts about dinosaurs at the 2013 Family Fun Walk Thursday, May 30 - 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Kirkendall Public Library • The Walk will be approximately one mile in length around the walking trail at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex • Families may begin the walk at any time between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Participants should check in with library staff before the walk. • The walk will be held indoors if there is inclement weather. • Refreshments for all walkers and entertainment will be provided at the conclusion of the walk. • All children will receive a prize for participating.  The Family Fun Walk is a fundraiser for the Kirkendall Public Library Foundation Please direct any questions to Kelly or Sherry at 965-6460, option #4 or email children@ankenyiowa.gov.
