Ankeny Festivals
The City of Ankeny hosts a variety of events each year with our community partners in an effort to bring people together for social networking and foster community cohesiveness. Visit the events calendar for details on all the city happenings.
Ankeny SummerFest is a longstanding Ankeny tradition held in July the week after the 4th featuring a grand parade, carnival, music, performances and fireworks.
Santa’s North Pole Village, hosted by the Ankeny Arts Center, is one of the most popular craft shows in Iowa and features hand-crafted items such as jewelry, furniture, clothing and holiday decor. Local organizations provide meals and drinks and shuttles will take you from location to location all day for only 50 cents.
The Ankeny Uptown Farmer’s Market provides a wide variety of products from seasonal produce, home-made baked goods, specialty food items, BBQ cooked on site, perennial plants, hand made items and much more. The Farmer's Market is held at the corner of SW Third Street and Maple Street in Uptown Ankeny.
The DMACC Kite Festival is an annual event hosting thousands of kite enthusiasts who enjoy flying their own kites or just watching the hundreds of kites flying over the Des Moines Area Community College Ankeny Campus.
Ankeny Art in the Park is an annual event hosted by the Ankeny Art Center. The Festival celebrates the talents of Iowa artists and musicians and is held in the park at the Ankeny Art Center at the corner of SW Ordnance Road and State Street.
