Welcome to the Public Works Department!

We pride ourselves on providing our residents, merchants, and visitors with superior preservation of the City’s infrastructure, as well as providing maintenance in a cost effective and efficient manner that continues to promote and safeguard Ankeny’s great quality of life.

Activities within the department include traffic signalization and control, roadway administration and maintenance, snow and ice control, street cleaning, engineering and the central garage.

The Operations Division of Public Works includes 20 fulltime employees including the Public Works Administrator, 15 employees in the street maintenance division and four employees in the central garage operation.
