What Does A Flash Flood WATCH Mean?
A Watch means a flood is possible in your area
- Identify where you and your family could evacuate such as a friend's home in another town, a hotel or a shelter
- Fill your car's gas tank in case an evacuation notice is issued and be ready to leave at a moment's notice
- Move furniture and valuables to higher floors of your home; keep important documents with you or in a safety deposit box
What Does A Flash Flood WARNING Mean?
A Warning means flooding is already occurring or flooding will occur very soon.
- Immediate action is needed
- Listen to the local media for information and instructions
- If told to evacuate, do so as soon as possible; you may only have seconds to escape
- Move to higher ground away from rivers, streams, and creeks
