Robert Chiappano Jr. is a 16 year veteran of the fire service. He is certified by the State of Illinois as a Firefighter II and III, Fire Apparatus Engineer, Instructor I and Fire Officer I. Rob has been certified as a paramedic for over 7 years. He holds numerous certification in hazardous materials response, including Haz-Mat Technician and Railroad Haz-Mat Emergencies. He served as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic fir the Broadview (IL) Fire Department for 6 years and was a part-time on call member of the Westmont (IL) Fire Department for 13 years, the last 5 as a Lieutenant.
Deputy Chief Chiappano was among the first tactically trained paramedics in the State of Illinois, and helped co-write the course curriculum currently being taught for tactical emergency medicine. He was a team leader for the FIAT/SWAT team, a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team covering approximately 15 jurisdictions of the western suburbs of Chicago. He also served as the Public Education Coordinator for 2 years in Westmont, as well as the assistant public information officer.
