ANKENY, Iowa (May 23, 2012) - Children ages five to thirteen can learn the fundamentals of tennis and are encouraged to attend Ankeny Parks & Recreation's tennis clinics. The clinics will be taught by Ankeny High School Boys' Tennis Coach, Randy Daniels. Proper techniques of a forehand, backhand, volley and serve will be incorporated into the program.
Tennis clinics will be held Monday through Thursday, June 18 to 21, at the Prairie Ridge Tennis Complex. Ages five through seven will meet from 8 to 9 a.m., ages eight to ten from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and ages 11 to 13 from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. Participants are asked to supply their own racquets.
Registration fee is $55 for residents and $66 for non-residents. For every participant registration, $5 will go toward the Hoefle Memorial Fund in memory of Dennis Hoefle. Register online or at the Parks and Recreation office, 210 South Ankeny Blvd. Deadline to register is June 11. For those unable to participate in June, the same set of clinics will be offered later in the summer from July 23-26.
