UPDATE - DRIVER IDENTIFIED IN WEEKEND CAR CRASH INTO HOME IN ANKENY

The Ankeny Police Department conducted a joint investigation with the Ankeny Fire Department into a single-vehicle accident that occurred on April 8 at 803 NW 32nd St. in Ankeny. Through the investigation, it has been determined that the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The driver has been identified as James Shafer II, a 21-year-old resident of Ankeny. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and further details will be released as they become available.

The Ankeny Police and Fire Departments would like to extend their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of James Shafer II during this difficult time.
