[ARCHIVED] Celebrate the holidays in Ankeny

The City of Ankeny is proud to partner with The District at Prairie Trail and Uptown Ankeny to offer the following holiday events.

Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Fireworks

Make some memories at the Ankeny Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Fireworks Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, from 6 – 6:30 p.m. at the Town Square Park in the District at Prairie Trail. The Mayors Tree Lighting and Fireworks serve as the finale to Dazzling in the District.

Join in the fun at Dazzling in the District with Santa, kids’ activities, a holiday scavenger hunt with prize giveaways, tree lighting and fireworks. The event will be held at participating businesses throughout The District including the Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library from 2 – 6 p.m. The library will be hosting story times with a famous elf, holiday crafts and more! There will be fun, festive activities all day. At 6 p.m. go to Town Square Park to enjoy caroling from the Ankeny Community Chorus, free hot chocolate, meet Ankeny police and firefighters and more. The event will wrap up with Mayor Mark Holm lighting the big tree in Town Square Park along with a spectacular fireworks finale at 6:30 p.m. Learn more about Dazzling in the District at https://thedistrictpt.com/event/dazzling-in-the-district-2022.

 

Winter Wonderlights, now – Jan. 2, 2023

Make Winter Wonderlights your holiday light destination. Walk, ride your bike or drive through Uptown (including AMP) to see the business neighborhood decorated with holiday lights and more than 30 animated light displays. Winter Wonderlights transforms Uptown each night after sundown. Uptown Ankeny offers several holiday events throughout November and December, visit www.uptownankeny.org for more information.
