Honor Guard

The Ankeny Police Department, Honor / Color Guard Unit, was formed in the spring of 2019 and is the first of its kind at the Ankeny Police Department. The unit has two primary functions:

  • To perform duties at funeral services to help facilitate the journey home for any fallen officer or firefighter.
  • Post or carry colors in organized functions, ceremonies, or parades.
