Lt. Robert Kovacs started his career in law enforcement with the Grinnell Police Department in 1997 before coming to the City of Ankeny in 2004. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in Sociology and Criminology. During his career, Lt. Kovacs has been a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, patrol sergeant, and administrative sergeant. He is currently assigned as a patrol lieutenant overseeing the patrol division.
