Greater Des Moines Partnership

The City of Ankeny's Economic Development Department works with the Greater Des Moines Partnership to attract new businesses to Ankeny and to help existing businesses prosper and expand here. The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Economic Development team specializes in assisting businesses with relocating or expanding their operations in Central Iowa. Through specialized industry research, partnerships with the City of Ankeny and other communities, state, and national entities, and comprehensive assistance in site selection, the Partnership is a great resource for the Central Iowa economic development community.

Iowa Economic Development Authority

The Iowa Economic Development Authority helps clients successfully expand or relocate all or part of their business operations. They provide relevant facts and information to help make the right recommendations. Their team of experts works in confidence to generate an information package to meet the unique needs of each business. Their mission is to strengthen economic and community vitality by building partnerships and leveraging resources to make Iowa the choice for people and business. Through their two main divisions – business development and community development – IEDA administers several state and federal programs to meet its goals of assisting individuals, communities and businesses.

Des Moines Area Community College Business Resources (DBR)

Des Moines Area Community College Business Resources is the first choice for talent development in Central Iowa. Qualifying businesses may have training and consulting services funded through one of two state supported programs.

Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce

The Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce exists to promote economic development, strengthen our business climate, and enhance the quality of life in Ankeny.  The Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit business membership organization with more than 1,000 members across the Ankeny area. Ankeny Economic Development Corporation

Ankeny Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) is a private business organization.  AEDC's mission is to support and grow the business community in the area.  This mission has remained the same since the AEDC was created over 50 years ago. Every year the AEDC hosts its annual Salute to Industry, recognizing companies and individuals who are making a difference in the community. 

Iowa Area Development Group

The Iowa Area Development Group serves businesses interested in expanding or locating within the member-owned and municipal electric service areas of Iowa. The northern part of Ankeny is served by Consumers Energy Cooperative.

Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center in Des Moines conducts research, counsels and trains business people in management, financing, and operating small businesses. The SBDC provides comprehensive information services and access to experts in a variety of fields.

Polk County Assessor's Office

The Polk County Assessor maintains a valuable website that provides details on buildings and land in Ankeny and elsewhere in the Des Moines Metro. Information includes legal descriptions, valuation, sale and ownership history, building descriptions and ownership information.
