Discrimination Complaint Procedure
If you believe that you have been unlawfully discriminated against in the areas of credit, education, employment, housing or public accommodations because of your age, color, creed, disability, gender identify, national origin, race, religion, sex and sexual orientation, please contact the Iowa Civil Rights Commission to file a formal complaint. Complaints may be filed online or in person at the ICRC office. Learn more at the ICRC website. Discrimination complaints are handled by the Iowa Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) on behalf of the City of Ankeny.

Please note:
- If you believe you have been subject to discriminatory practices, filing an ICRC complaint is the first step.
- Timing is important. The complaint must be filed within 300 days of the alleged discriminatory practice and the ICRC will investigate your claim.
- Please contact the ICRC if you need help obtaining forms, filling out complaint forms or if you have questions about questionnaires.
