Park Shelters

Park shelters are available for private rental at the following parks. Reservations can be made a maximum of six months in advance. Please note, no park shelters have electricity hook-ups. If the park is not listed below, the shelter can be used at no charge on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Indoor Rental Facilities

Lakeside Center, 400 NW Lakeshore Drive

Located in Hawkeye Park, the Lakeside Center is a four-season, 3,500 square feet rental facility for up to 250 people. Reservations are taken up to one year in advance. View facility rules and photos.

Outdoor Education Center, 610 NE 36th Street

The Outdoor Education Center is a four-season, 1,200 square feet rental facility for up to 50 people. The facility also includes an open-air shelter with picnic tables. Reservations are taken up to one year in advance. View facility rules (PDF)

Albaugh Family Community Center, 150 NW Ash Drive

The Albaugh Family Community Center has a large banquet room ideal for parties, weddings, banquets, and other large events. Small classroom ideal for meetings, presentations, classes, and other small events is also available.

Outdoor Rental Facilities

Ankeny Bandshell, 410 W First Street

The Ankeny Bandshell at Wagner Park is available for public use and can be rented on a first-come, first-served reservation basis. The bandshell is an excellent place for small or large events such as performances and other special events. Rentals are for a full day only. Ankeny Market and Pavilion, 715 W 1st Street

Ankeny Market and Pavilion is a 3.1-acre park that includes two pavilions, a restroom building, 108 parking spaces, bicycle trailheads, and plenty of open space. Ankeny Market and Pavilion is a trailhead for the popular High Trestle Trail, home of the Ankeny Uptown Farmer's Market, and host to a variety of unique and exciting community activities. Gym Rentals

Ankeny Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with the Ankeny Community School District, will be taking reservations for public gym usage. Gym space is available on weeknights after 6 p.m. and on weekends. Fees range from $22 to $44 per hour depending on the facility. This service is available for persons living in the Ankeny Community School District only.

To participate in the lottery, please register. A $50 deposit is required for each team scheduled. This will be applied to your final bill. Each team/group will be allowed only one representative for making reservations. When attempting to reserve gym times, leave your daytime phone number(s).
